(Premature) Weigh In

I'm so unbelievably impatient.  I couldn't wait until Sunday, so I hopped on the scale yesterday morning.

I lost 2 lbs in 3 weeks.  I'm actually quite happy.  I don't feel like I have been trying to lose weight.  These past weeks, I have just been trying to survive until the summer.  With all of the stress that I have been under, I am just happy that I did not gain weight.  So, I am happy about the 2 lb loss.  My goal was to make it to 125 lbs by the end of the school year and I think that I came close enough.

I'm gonna start weighing myself weekly for the rest of the summer.  Though the scale causes me a lot of anxiety...it also keeps me honest.   After I get to my goal weight, I'll revisit the whole scale thing.

In other news...I've been doing really well with my C210K program...today I ran 20 minutes and walked 1 minute two times...which was 4.5 miles.  This is something that I would have NEVER been able to do 11 weeks ago.  I am really proud at how far I've come.  Though I know that I need to increase my speed...I'm so happy that I did it...AND I did it with ease (Yay, me!)

Because of this (and watching the marathon at the end of the Biggest Loser 10 DVD), I REALLY want to run the River Run for Hope 10K.  Initially, I wanted to do it with my mom, but she wants to walk it...and with all of the "training" that I have been doing, I really want to run it (or at least try).  Then I find out my usual running buddy has class that weekend, so she won't be able to join me.  So, with that being said...I think decided that I want to try to run it by myself.

I don't do a lot of things by myself.  I mean, besides grocery shopping and...wow, I can't think of anything else that I do by myself on the regular.  Oh!  And running, duh!  Anyway, I think that it will be a nice challenge to try to accomplish this on my own.

Another challenge is that it is a 10K, not a 5K.  I've only completed four 5Ks in my life...which is not a lot...jumping to a 10K seems a little scary to me.  Scary, but do-able.  I mean, there is no rule that you can't walk when you want to.  The race is mostly flat (like my treadmill), so I'm pretty confident that I will be able to do it.

The race is in two weeks...and I have until June 2nd to decide.  Thanks again to Lee for recommending it!!!!:)

  1. You will definitely be able to do it. And you're right, there is no rule that says that you can't walk. I've walked parts of plenty of races in my life.
